CHRISTMAS CELEBRATIONS
Every Christmas Bishop Jonathan and the family festoon their home, Bishop's Haven with decorations in celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ. The decorations attract hundreds of visitors and culminate in an open air carol service beside the illuminated crib on Christmas Eve.
The decorations are also a means to collect for the vulnerable children of the world who like the baby Jesus are in danger, homeless and in fear for their lives. The collection goes to Save the Children. In 2005 the lights raised £502 and in 2006 they raised £604 from generous donations from members of the public.
When time allows, Bishop Jonathan, in the great tradition of St Nicholas, also dons a Father Christmas suit and helps bring happiness, magic and love to the children of the area. He has visited Charities, Mother and Toddler, Play groups and private homes.
